Bullitt Damper 2.0

Richy, Ittai, and Eric from Velution have developed the perfect lightweight steering damper! The latest design is even more minimalist and lighter than the previous version. The benefits are, on one hand, the one-piece design that offers even better moisture protection, and on the other, the shape of the cap. A raised edge around the hexagon of the cap ensures that loads extending far forward aren’t damaged by the sharp edges of the hexagon.

Encapsulated and counter-rotating thin damping plates with fluorocarbon gel ensure that your Bullitt’s front wheel doesn’t ‘shimmy’ (i.e., vibrate) in certain riding situations, thanks to viscous damping in the upper part of the headset. This prevents small vibrations from the front wheel from quickly building up into handlebar wobble. This is also known as "Speed Wobble" or "Head Shake" and can be very dangerous, especially at higher speeds. Plus, it makes the ride much more comfortable and stable!
This phenomenon is resolved by steering dampers on motorcycles, for example. These aren’t particularly attractive and are far too heavy for a bicycle.
