Urban Arrow FamilyNext² Pro 100 Nm – the new King of the Road 👑

Do you need 100 Nm to take the kids to school?

Probably not.

Do you want 100 Nm and to get to know the latest generation Urban Arrow FamilyNext straight away?

Then the story gets a lot more interesting. 😉

The new Urban Arrow FamilyNext² Pro 100 Nm is not simply a FamilyNext with a more powerful motor. The familiar front of the FamilyNext is combined with a completely redesigned rear section, a new cockpit and the powerful Bosch Cargo Line with 100 Nm of torque.

The spacious, high box, the front frame, front wheel and the comfortable suspension fork have stayed. Behind the box, almost everything has been re‑engineered.

The rear frame has a sleeker, more modern design, the drivetrain is more cleanly integrated, cables are neatly routed through the handlebar and the rear light is now integrated into the rear mudguard. On top of that you get an enclosed drivetrain, a new seat clamp and integrated SP Connect smartphone mount to it.

100 Nm, FamilyNext comfort and a completely redesigned rear end.

👑 Welcome to the new King of the Road.

🎯 Who is the FamilyNext² Pro 100 Nm ideal for?

Let’s start with something important: not everyone needs a Pro.

The FamilyNext Advanced with 75 Nm is already a fantastic all-rounder for a huge number of Dutch families. The Pro mainly becomes interesting when you want more power, the latest technology and the most fully equipped version.

(✓) You want maximum motor reserve
(✓) You often ride heavily loaded
(✓) You choose Enviolo AutomatiQ
(✓) You often ride over bridges or into strong winds
(✓) You’ll also use the cargo bike in hilly or mountainous areas
(✓) You regularly make longer trips
(✓) You want the updated FamilyNext² rear frame
(✓) You value a cleanly integrated drive unit and cockpit
(✓) You simply want the top model

And sometimes a choice doesn’t have to be a hundred percent rational.

Do you just want the beefiest Urban Arrow available right now?

There’s actually very little we can say against that. 😉

Urban Arrow Family Next² pro

100 Nm Bosch Cargo Line: maximum reserve

The new FamilyNext² Pro comes with a Bosch Cargo Line motor with a hefty 100 Nm of torque.

Within the FamilyNext range, that makes the choice nicely straightforward:

FamilyNext Essential – 60 Nm
Calm, quiet and efficient. A smart choice for normal city use and smaller families.

FamilyNext Advanced – 75 Nm
Our golden middle ground. Comfortable and with enough reserve for headwinds, bridges, loads and longer distances.

FamilyNext² Pro – 100 Nm
Maximum support for those who ride heavy, want automatic shifting, encounter hills or simply don’t want to make any compromises.

You don’t constantly need the difference between 75 and 100 Nm on a flat bike path through Amsterdam. The more you ask of the bike, the more interesting that extra reserve becomes.

💨 Strong headwinds
🌉 Bridges and overpasses
📦 Heavy loads
⛰️ Hilly or mountainous terrain
🚲 Lots of stop‑and‑go riding with kids and luggage

In the Netherlands, 100 Nm is mainly a luxury and extra reserve. If you take the Urban Arrow to hilly or mountainous areas, that power suddenly becomes much more practical.

An electric cargo bike with rider, kids and luggage adds up to quite a bit of weight. The extra pulling power makes it easier to accelerate comfortably and maintain a pleasant pace in tough conditions.

And in the Netherlands?

That’s where you’ll really notice it when you’re climbing that bridge. 😉

AutomatiQ and 100 Nm: a delightful combination

Especially when you choose Enviolo AutomatiQ we think the powerful motor of the Pro is interesting.

With AutomatiQ you set your preferred cadence and the system automatically adjusts the stepless gearing while you ride.

Stopping at a traffic light, accelerating again, riding up a bridge or picking up speed: you’ll need to think far less about your gears.

The combination of 100 Nm Bosch Cargo Line and automatic stepless shifting and therefore fits perfectly with this Pro’s premium character.

🚦 Green light? Start pedalling and go. The tech takes care of the rest.

What’s new on the FamilyNext² Pro?

Much more than just the motor.

Urban Arrow has kept what was already proven at the front of the FamilyNext and mainly redesigned the rear section and cockpit.

(⚡) 100 Nm Bosch Cargo Line – the most powerful drive unit in the FamilyNext range.

(🚲) Completely redesigned rear frame – sleeker and more modern, with the drive unit more cleanly integrated.

(🔧) Protected drivetrain – the belt is better enclosed, so clothing is less likely to get caught in the drivetrain.

(📱) Integrated SP Connect system – your smartphone gets a fixed place in the cockpit.

(✨) Hidden cables – cables run neatly through the handlebar for a cleaner look and better protection.

(💡) Integrated rear light – the rear light is neatly integrated into the rear mudguard.

(🪑) New seat clamp – handy when different family members regularly swap bikes.

The FamilyNext² Pro is therefore more than just an Advanced with 25 Nm extra. You also get the new generation rear frame, drivetrain integration and cockpit.

A new rear end, familiar FamilyNext comfort

The biggest design change starts behind the box.

The completely redesigned rear frame gives the Pro a sleeker, more modern look and integrates the drivetrain much more cleanly into the whole.

At the front, Urban Arrow deliberately didn’t change what was already working well.

The spacious FamilyNext box with high sides remains. Many parents experience that as pleasant and protective for children. The comfortable suspension fork also remains part of the concept and helps to smooth out cobblestones, speed bumps and rough tarmac.

Up front you get the proven comfort of the FamilyNext, at the back the latest generation of technology and finish.

SP Connect and hidden cables: a much sleeker cockpit 📱

You’ll also notice behind the handlebars that this is the new generation.

The cables are neatly integrated into the handlebar. That gives the cockpit a cleaner, more modern look and at the same time protects the cables better against weather and damage.

In addition, SP Connect integrated directly.

With a suitable SP Connect solution you can click your smartphone into place quickly and securely. Handy for navigation, route information and other data you want to see on the go.

No universal phone mount that has to be retrofitted somewhere between all the cables. The system was integrated right from the design stage.

Fewer loose cables, fewer loose accessories, more bike.

Integrated rear light 💡

The rear light has also become part of the new design.

On the FamilyNext² the rear light integrated directly into the rear mudguard. This creates a clean rear end that lines up nicely with the updated frame.

It may seem like a small detail, but it’s exactly these kinds of details that make the difference between a purely technical upgrade and a bike that genuinely feels like a new generation.

Gates Belt Drive: hardly any attention needed for your drivetrain

For a premium build like this, a Gates Belt Drive excellent.

A belt drive is quiet, clean and low‑maintenance. You don’t have to oil a chain, and the maintenance intervals for the drivetrain are significantly longer than with a traditional chain.

From our own maintenance and rental experience at DrBeyk, we see that in terms of service intervals a belt drive roughly three to four times longer can last longer than the interval at which we proactively replace chain and sprockets on intensively used chain-driven bikes.

🔧 Less maintenance
🛢️ No chain lubrication
👖 Less grime around the drivetrain
🚲 Lots and lots of riding

On the FamilyNext² Pro the drivetrain is also better shielded, so for example a wide trouser leg is less likely to get caught in the belt.

Naturally, you still need to be careful with extremely wide or long clothing: on any bike it can, for example, get caught in the rear wheel.

FamilyNext Advanced 75 Nm or Pro 100 Nm?

This is probably the most important choice.

FamilyNext Advanced FamilyNext² Pro
Motor 75 Nm 100 Nm
Character All-rounder Premium / top model
Front suspension Yes Yes
FamilyNext box Yes Yes
Rear frame Existing generation New FamilyNext² design
Cable integration Existing cockpit Cables neatly routed
Phone Bosch solution possible SP Connect integrated
Rear light Existing version Integrated into mudguard
Drivetrain Depending on the configuration More cleanly integrated and better protected
Best choice Most families Maximum power + latest generation

Choose the FamilyNext Advanced 75 Nm if:

(✓) you’re looking for a fantastic all‑round Urban Arrow
(✓) you mainly ride in the Netherlands
(✓) you want enough reserve for wind, bridges and loads
(✓) you value the comfort of the FamilyNext
(✓) value for money is a major factor

There’s a good reason the Advanced is a bestseller at DrBeyk. With 75 Nm you’re perfectly covered for an enormous range of uses.

Choose the FamilyNext² Pro 100 Nm if:

(✓) you want maximum motor reserve
(✓) you often ride heavily loaded or choose AutomatiQ
(✓) you regularly encounter hilly or mountainous terrain
(✓) you want the updated FamilyNext² rear frame
(✓) you like SP Connect and the updated cockpit
(✓) you value the latest finish and details
(✓) you simply want to go for the top model

Rationally, the Advanced is everything most families need. The Pro is for people who want to go just that one step further.

And that last one is also a perfectly valid reason.

And the Family Active Plus Classic?

Then we put two completely different ideas of what a cargo bike can be side by side.

The Family Active Plus Classic is our no‑nonsense workhorse: rigid fork, lower box, high load capacity, quiet 50 Nm motor and as little maintenance‑sensitive tech as possible.

At DrBeyk we’ve been using the Active Plus in our rental fleet for many years and from our own experience we know just how incredibly robust that bike can be.

The FamilyNext² Pro 100 Nm opts instead for more power, comfort, technology and refinement.

Active Plus Classic: “I just want something simple and solid.”

FamilyNext² Pro: “If I’m buying a new Urban Arrow anyway, I want the beefiest one.”

We fully understand both lines of reasoning.

Do you really need 100 Nm?

No, not necessarily.

Our customers and renters have been riding Urban Arrows with less powerful motors for years and are extremely satisfied. Even families who regularly do longer tours through the Netherlands with one or two children manage perfectly well in practice with less power.

So 100 Nm is not a prerequisite for a good electric cargo bike.

Above all, it gives you more reserve, more ease under tough conditions and more options when you ride outside flat-as-a-pancake Netherlands.

For some people that’s overkill.

For others, that’s exactly the point. 👑

Which battery should you choose with 100 Nm?

A more powerful motor means higher consumption, so a larger battery is a smart choice.

Actual energy consumption depends on support level, speed, weight, temperature, tyre pressure, wind, elevation changes and how much you pedal yourself.

Do you mainly use the Pro for normal city rides? Then the largest battery isn’t automatically the best choice.

Do you ride long distances, heavily loaded, with lots of assistance or regularly in hilly terrain? Then extra battery capacity becomes more interesting.

💡 Tell us how you’re actually going to ride. We’d rather advise you on the right battery than automatically push the biggest one.

A top model deserves better advice than:

“This one has the biggest motor, so this is the one you need.”

At DrBeyk Amsterdam we’ve been working with cargo bikes for over 25 years. We sell them, maintain them and use Urban Arrows ourselves in our rental fleet.

That also allows us to tell you when you don’t need a Pro.

From our location in Amsterdam-Zuid we help families from Amsterdam and the rest of the Netherlands and Belgium choose a cargo bike that truly fits their daily use.

Torn between the FamilyNext Essential 50 Nm, Advanced 75 Nm, FamilyNext² Pro 100 Nm or the no‑nonsense Active Plus Classic?

🚲 Come and take a test ride at DrBeyk Amsterdam. Feel free to bring the kids and tell us what distances you ride, where you live and what normally goes in the box.

You may find that the Advanced with 75 Nm is everything you need. Or the simplicity of the Active Plus Classic may suit you better.

Or maybe you step off the new Pro after a single test ride and think just one thing:

100 Nm. This is the one. 👑
